Before joining VDL MIC, he worked as a mechanical engineer. At the time, VDL MIC was still in a start-up phase, which really appealed to him. He saw it as a great opportunity to contribute his technical knowledge and experience while being part of a growing organization. The chance to take on responsibility, help develop new processes, and see the company grow made VDL MIC an attractive place for me to work.
As a manufacturing engineer, I work on optimizing processes within the production lines. My role is very broad and can range from designing and setting up a manufacturing process to defining and documenting the welding parameters used within that process. Daily, I focus on making processes more stable, efficient, and reliable while ensuring the required product quality.
What I enjoy most is developing and optimizing welding parameters. This involves finding the right settings and continuously improving the process to achieve consistent quality. It is especially rewarding to be involved in the development of a new product and to see it progress from the initial development phase to a stable process used for large-scale production.
One of the main challenges is finding the right balance between product quality, process reliability, and production efficiency. Even small changes in a process can have a significant effect on the result. Analyzing these challenges and finding practical solutions that work within the production environment makes my job both interesting and varied.
